Fallout 76 has a new exploit in the form of a secret developer's room

Fallout 76 Caps Fallout 76 has a new exploit in the form of a secret developer's room. Players discovered the room recently and have begun to use it to access items that aren't available yet in-game resulting in a rash of player suspensions and bans.

Needless to say Bethesda isn't happy. Reportedly those sources said that the developer was automatically suspending accounts for anyone entering the developer room. At least one player claims to have received a message saying their character was in a "corrupted and/or unusual state" and warning that they'd remain banned until they described how they entered the forbidden room. Third-party Fallout 76 markets have also banned users for trading equipment.

However that cache of items isn’t just limited to high-level loot. Others have found unreleased armor paints (which Eurogamer also found). This has riled up the game’s subreddits where advertising unreleased items for trade buy FO76 Caps has gotten some banned and discussing or asking for directions on how to break into the room is sorely frowned upon.

Bethesda is now issuing automatic account suspensions for anyone who enters the room with many players reporting that the ban statements are being sent via email. In 24 hours or less players who access the room will be sent a message from Bethesda that informs them their account has been temporarily suspended. The email also suggests that most players who enter the room do so deliberately since it requires a fair number of unnatural steps to gain entry although players who genuinely have accidentally stumbled into it can email Bethesda.
